Lead Designer

Lead Designer, Design Team Manager 

The ultimate trifecta needed – top notch designer, business-minded and team leader. Working almost like an agency within a company, you would lead a team of 3-4 beyond great design and into digital solutions that impact the business. The innovative, creative and enthusiastic Design lead will be a working leadership position where you must process and prioritize a vast amount of information to create and help produce websites, landing pages, emails, and a variety of other online and offline projects in a sales-oriented, B2B environment. This position entails creativity, online marketing instincts and the ability to meld both skills into a finished product while meeting strict deadlines.

This position works side-by-side with the global marketing team to establish, and plan projects and product delivery. In addition, you will work with our wholly-owned technology company, which you will find both a blessing and a burden. Therefore, you will be the digital, tech guru on our side of the fence!

The design department has projects coming in from multiple departments within the organization – from product line tools like Vacation Homes to client needs like American Airlines – so it’s going to get a little crazy some days.

Essential Functions: 

  • Lead and mentor a team of three (graphic design, web design and build, and multi-media) including workflow and prioritization of projects
  • High level understanding of digital marketing and E-Commerce (be familiar and comfortable)
  • Develop solutions and improve existing and new websites, landing pages, and websites, landing pages based on performance metrics and target market use
  • Create and customize marketing materials and White Label White Label websites based off client requests (ie. Hilton Worldwide or American Airlines)
  • Work collaboratively with marketing to create and customize online and offline sales tools
  • Develop solutions to increase the efficiency of the overall department specifically in regards to content management (multi-lingual content, frequently updated material and sites, etc)
  • Own website “usability” and analytics within the organization
  • Follow industry standard guidelines while continuing to be innovative
  • Juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Uphold company brand standards

Requirements:

  • Accredited degree in Web & Graphic Design, ecommerce or related field preferred
  • Must have 4 - 6 years of related experience.
  • Must have 1-3 years management experience
  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of interactivity, the Web and the fundamentals of information architecture
  • Must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Proficient in typography, layout, color theory
  • Proficient in SVN, FTP, Font management
  • High level working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, and Grid systems.
  • Knowledge of web analytics and SEO standards
  • Design skills: Graphic design, layout, web design, online advertising and internet marketing.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-motivated, energetic team player with a very strong work ethic and versatile cooperative attitude with intellectual curiosity
  • Must be business-minded, understanding that every individual and department must have a return on investment
